Plan for your Northern Arizona home

Mount Vernon Street neighborhood in Prescott, Arizona

From muddy shoes at the back door to meals, pets and weekend visitors, a floor has a lot to keep up with. Luxury vinyl plank offers a wood-look option for homeowners who want a practical cleaning routine and a consistent style across their living spaces. We help you compare colors, textures and plank sizes in the context of your home, whether you are updating a Prescott kitchen or replacing carpet in a Prescott Valley family room.

Room conditions matter as much as the sample you choose. Strong afternoon sun, indoor temperature changes and the surface under your old flooring all belong in the installation plan. We review the selected product’s requirements, assess preparation needs and discuss transitions at doors and adjoining rooms. For a seasonal home, we also talk through the indoor conditions the flooring needs while you are away.

The look you want. A floor for everyday life.

Luxury vinyl plank brings wood-inspired color and texture to a wide range of interiors, from bright kitchens to comfortable bedrooms. With options for plank width, surface texture and tone, you can create a lighter, more open feel or add a rich, grounded look without choosing a real wood floor.

We help you look beyond the display sample. Product construction, wear-layer specifications, room suitability and installation requirements all matter when choosing LVP. Your estimate brings those choices together with the preparation and details your rooms need.

  • Make the style your own: Compare warm oak looks, cooler tones and varied grain patterns against your cabinets, walls and furniture.
  • Plan for daily traffic: Discuss product options for busy walkways, pets and the rooms your household uses most.
  • Simplify routine care: Choose a floor with cleaning requirements that suit your schedule, and learn which products to use.
  • Finish the whole space: Include doorways, floor-height changes, transitions and baseboards in the plan.

Choosing the plank is only the beginning

A good-looking installation depends on a suitable surface beneath it. We assess the existing flooring and subfloor for preparation needs, including flatness and moisture concerns, before planning the installation. Covering a problem with new planks does not resolve it.

Click-lock and glue-down products have different requirements. We discuss the method appropriate for your chosen floor, layout and subfloor, along with any required underlayment and expansion clearances. Still comparing materials? Our hardwood installation page explains the real wood alternative.

1 · See the Space

We visit your home, measure the rooms and look at the existing surfaces. Together we review your priorities, plank choices and the preparation included in your estimate.

2 · Get the Surface Ready

We handle the agreed removal and subfloor preparation, checking the surface against your chosen product’s requirements. We also plan material delivery and any required conditioning.

3 · Lay Out & Install

We plan the plank direction and layout, then install using the specified method. Doorways, edges and transitions receive the same attention as the main floor area.

Luxury Vinyl Plank Questions

Is luxury vinyl plank the same as laminate?

No. They are different flooring materials, even when both have a wood-look design. Luxury vinyl plank, or LVP, is a layered vinyl flooring product with a printed design and a protective wear layer. Depending on the product, it may have a flexible construction or a rigid composite core. Laminate typically has a core made from compressed wood fibers, topped with a printed design and a hard protective surface. Neither is solid hardwood; the wood appearance comes from the design layer. Their different construction affects how they respond to moisture and everyday use. Water resistance, scratch resistance and cleaning requirements vary by product, so it is worth comparing the specific options rather than relying on the material name alone. We help you compare product construction, care requirements and suitability for the rooms you want to update.

Is luxury vinyl plank waterproof?

Water performance depends on the selected product and its installation requirements. A waterproof plank does not make the entire room or subfloor waterproof. We discuss the product’s limitations and any moisture concerns before recommending a floor.

Can LVP go over my existing flooring?

That depends on the existing surface and the new product’s requirements. Loose flooring, uneven areas or unsuitable layers may need to be removed or corrected. We inspect what is there before including an overlay or removal in your estimate.

Is LVP a good option for pets and busy households?

Many homeowners choose vinyl plank for its convenient care and range of durable surfaces. Wear-layer specifications and product guidance help us discuss your options. No floor is scratch-proof, so entry mats, furniture protection and routine cleaning still matter.

How much does luxury vinyl plank installation cost?

The plank you choose, room sizes, existing floor removal, subfloor preparation and transitions all affect the estimate. Send your approximate square footage and photos, and we can arrange a visit to establish the work your project needs.

How long does installation take?

The schedule depends on material availability, the size and layout of your rooms, removal and preparation. Product conditioning or adhesive waiting periods may also affect access. We explain the project schedule and furniture arrangements before starting.

Can damaged vinyl planks be repaired?

Some damaged planks can be replaced, depending on the product, installation method and availability of matching material. Keep spare planks from your project when possible. Send photos of the damage so we can discuss a suitable repair.
